Abstract
⺠Mulberry 1-deoxynojirimycin (DNJ) has therapeutic potency in the suppression of postprandial blood glucose. ⺠Several doses of DNJ are needed to achieve optimal therapeutic effect, due to its short half-life. ⺠A novel method was developed to retard DNJ release using gelatin crosslinked with transglutaminase. ⺠High effective DNJ entrapment, increased AUC and prolonged hypoglycaemic effects were observed in rats.
