Abstract
⺠Maltese propolis belongs to the Mediterranean type, rich in diterpenes. ⺠It contains terpenyl esters of benzoic acids, originating from Ferula communis. ⺠Maltese propolis is active against Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans. ⺠The antifungal activity of Maltese propolis is connected to the terpenyl esters.
