Abstract
► We optimise a methodology for determining total selenium in food matrices. ► We study selenium content in selected high consumption food from Argentinean diet. ► We estimate their contribution to the Se dietary intake. ► This information is currently scarce or absent in Argentina. ► More survey is strongly recommended from results suggesting a deficient Se intake.
