Abstract
⺠Hydroxytyrosyl alkyl ether derivatives exerted a neuroprotective effect in rat brain slices. ⺠The inhibition of lipid peroxidation was directly related to the cytoprotective effect. ⺠The length of the alkyl side-chain was related to the cytoprotective effect. ⺠The cytoprotective effect was maximal in the range of C4-C8.
