Abstract
⺠Spontaneous legume plants were screened as potential sources of dietary isoflavones. ⺠A DNA barcoding approach permitted the identification of 90% of the samples. ⺠Total isoflavone average content in the studied species varied from 20 to 396 mg kgâ1. ⺠The overall isoflavone level was related to rpoC1 phylogeny.
