Abstract
► An antioxidant protein has been isolated from Hirda fruit and designated as TCP-III. ► TCP-III protein showed the molecular weight of 16 kDa by MALDI-TOF and SDS-PAGE analysis. ► Amino acid sequencing of TCP-III was carried out with the help of LC-MSE analysis. ► TCP-III protein significantly scavenged DPPH, ABTS, H2O2 and NO radicals. ► TCP-III protein also inhibited oxidation of linoleic acid, reduced ferric ions and chelated ferrous ions.
