Abstract
⺠Salvia sclareoides is the first Salvia species with prion binding properties. ⺠Total phenolic content, antioxidant activity and chemical profile are presented. ⺠Extracts were not cytotoxic nor genotoxic to human lymphocytes. ⺠n-Butanol extract presented the highest phenolic content and antioxidant activity. ⺠n-Butanol extract components bind to the cellular form of human prion protein.
