Abstract
► Essential oils from Rwandese hepatoprotective herbs present antioxidant properties. ► GC-MS analysis determined the composition of all four essential oils. ► Major components with antioxidant properties are unsaturated mono-and sesquiterpenes. ► The lipid peroxidation inhibitory activity is superior for the total methanolic extracts.
