Abstract
⺠Frangula rupestris is a new source of anthraquinone derivatives. ⺠Physcion is the main anthranoid aglycone of F. rupestris. ⺠F. rupestris and Frangula alnus demonstrate potent antimicrobial activity in vitro. ⺠Both investigated Frangula species are effective antioxidants.
