Abstract
⺠Dietary xenobiotics may interfere with drug metabolism in humans. ⺠Food-drug interactions include the induction of cytochromes P450 via xenoreceptors. ⺠We examined activation of PXR/AhR, and induction of P450 by ready to drink teas. ⺠Human hepatocytes and cell lines HepG2 and LS174T were used as in vitro models. ⺠Three teas induced CYP3A4 and several teas elevated CYP1A1 or activated AhR.
