Abstract
⺠We examine the anti-obesity and anti-atherogenic effects of natural tomato-wine. ⺠Tomato-wine enriched with lycopene suppresses body weight gain in obese rats. ⺠Tomato-wine inhibits fatty acid synthesis and lipid droplet formation. ⺠Tomato-wine elevates plasma HDL-cholesterol. ⺠Tomato-wine enriched with lycopene may help prevent obesity and atherosclerosis.
