Abstract
⺠Five flavonoids were isolated from acai pulp; four of them were identified from this plant for the first time. ⺠Antioxidant activities of the five flavonoids were assessed by ORAC. ⺠Anti-inflammatory effects of these five flavonoids were evaluated by SEAP assay, which was designed to measure NF-κB activation. ⺠The uncommon flavone velutin was found to be a strong NF-κB inhibitor.
