Abstract
► Freestanding edible films were prepared using pullulan and up to 46% rice wax. ► Water vapour barrier properties of the film were improved with increased rice wax. ► Moisture sorption isotherms were studied on the rice wax containing films. ► The films are useful as additive carriers or water barrier coatings for foods.
