Abstract
► Potent antibacterial activity was observed on palm kernel cake protein hydrolysate. ► Palm kernel cake hydrolysate was purified using gel filtration chromatography. ► The purified fraction is a non-hemolytic, peptide-containing complex. ► The purified fraction has molecular mass around 2.4 kDa and high in lysine. ► The major component in purified fraction was proven to be lauric acid derivative.
