Abstract
► Isoeugenol was measured in fish flesh, plasma and seawater using fluorometry. ► Isoeugenol was absorbed linearly into edible tissues during 30 min exposure. ► Tissue isoeugenol concentrations reached a maximum of 134.38 μmol kg−1. ► Recovery was modelled by exponential decay reducing to 7.89 μmol kg−1 after 7 h. ► Fillet isoeugenol concentrations reduced at −6.51 μmol kg−1 day−1 during storage at 3.87 °C.
