Abstract
► The conventional liposomes were sufficiently entrapped by CMCS layer. ► CMCS layer could stabilize the integrity of phospholipid bilayer during spray-drying. ► The coating mechanism was due to H-bonding interactions. ► CM-PL exhibited higher stability than aqueous liposomes. ► The sustained release property of CSO from rehydrated CM-PL was also obtained.
