Abstract
⺠Pulp and rind extracts of Passiflora alata and Passiflora edulis act as antioxidants. ⺠Antioxidant effects of Passiflora extracts were compared to that of pure isoorientin. ⺠Extracts were tested on the oxidant activities of neutrophils and myeloperoxidase. ⺠P. edulis rind extracts, rich in isoorientin, have the highest antioxidant activity. ⺠Extracts of passion fruits have possible use to control inflammatory response.
