Abstract
► Pulp and rind extracts of Passiflora alata and Passiflora edulis act as antioxidants. ► Antioxidant effects of Passiflora extracts were compared to that of pure isoorientin. ► Extracts were tested on the oxidant activities of neutrophils and myeloperoxidase. ► P. edulis rind extracts, rich in isoorientin, have the highest antioxidant activity. ► Extracts of passion fruits have possible use to control inflammatory response.
