Abstract
⺠Jambolão extract presents high contents of phenolic compounds. ⺠Lutein is the main carotenoid in jambolão fruit. ⺠Jambolão anthocyanins are characterised by diglucosides of five different aglycones. ⺠Jambolão extract shows high protection against singlet oxygen. ⺠Increased free radical scavenging capacity at higher pH values of jambolão extract.
