Abstract
⺠Pinolenic acid (PNA) is a PUFA with anti-inflammatory properties. ⺠We determined the anti-carcinogenic effects of PNA on human breast cancer cells. ⺠PNA could be taken up and incorporated into cell membranes. ⺠PNA changed nâ6 PUFA metabolism, and affected PGE2 production and COX-2 expression. ⺠PNA had no effect on cell proliferation or adhesion, but did suppress migration.
