Abstract
► Use of bio-based containers as an alternative to the petroleum-based ones for bkb (blackberries). ► To explore the performance of a bio-based material as a packaging material for bkb. ► To find alternative packaging design to the current one to prolong bkb shelf life. ► Bkb in closed containers met the US standard No1 grade for more than 12 days at 3 °C. ► Both bkb cultivars demonstrated better physicochemical quality in the OPS container.
