Abstract
⺠A colorimetric method for the determination of chitosan. ⺠Sample solvent and curves have been optimised. ⺠Chitosan quantification in seven commercial dietary supplements have been performed. ⺠The method is linear, reproducible and provides reliable chitosan content in capsules. ⺠In tablet products excipients cause underestimation.
