Abstract
⺠Different methods for extracting DNA from raw maize products were evaluated. ⺠DNA extract obtained from Roche kit was the best method for extracting DNA. ⺠Yield of DNA extracted from maize products was lower in the processed products. ⺠Seventeen samples were positive for the presence of 35S promoter. ⺠Thirty four percentage from the samples were positive for the genetically modified maize line Bt-176.
