Abstract
⺠Caesalpinia paraguariensis bark extracts show bioactivity against food spoilage bacteria. ⺠Isolation of bioactive components from infusion by bio-guided purification. ⺠Ellagic acid and 3-O-methylellagic acid show bioactivity more potent than sodium benzoate. ⺠Extracts and components shown to be safe for human consumption.
