Abstract
► Isotopic analysis is useful to determine food and beverage composition and quality. ► We compared the isotopic signatures of beers from Brazil and foreign countries. ► Beer δ13C greatly varied, with a dichotomy between commercial and artisanal ones. ► Beer price per L was directly related to δ13C values in Brazil and abroad. ► The 13C-enrichment over time may indicate a change in the Brazilian beer market.
