Abstract
⺠Two species-specific qPCR assays were developed based upon repetitive elements of the porcine and bovine genomes. ⺠The assays allowed sensitive detection of porcine and bovine DNA at levels as low as 1 pg/mL. ⺠Species determination and quantitation were evaluated using binary gelatin blends that contain various amounts of porcine and bovine gelatin. ⺠Species determination and quantitation were further evaluated in gelatin capsules.
