Abstract
⺠The cuticle proteome, responsible for microbial resistance, is poorly characterized. ⺠Cuticle proteins were selectively extracted and subjected to LC/MS/MS analysis. ⺠Similar to Kunitz-like protease inhibitor and ovocalyxin-32 are the most abundant protein constituents. ⺠Antimicrobial proteins and protease inhibitors are implicated in cuticle function.
