Abstract
⺠Venom proteomes of the redtail coral snake, Micrurus mipartitus, from Colombia and Costa Rica were analyzed. ⺠Three-finger toxins are the predominant proteins in both venoms, followed by phospholipases A2. ⺠The observed proteomes corroborate the determined in vitro and in vivo activities. ⺠Four major components of M. mipartitus venom from Colombia were isolated and partially characterized. ⺠An equine antivenom against Micrurus nigrocinctus fails to recognize M. mipartitus proteins.
