Abstract

âº Increased oxidative and nitrosative stress in experimental models of alcoholic and nonalcoholic acute/chronic liver diseases. âº Review on post-translational modifications of mitochondrial ALDH2 and other ALDH isozymes in various disease states. âº Increased levels of lipid peroxides following oxidative inactivation of ALDH2 and other ALDH isozymes. âº Future translational research with small molecule activators of ALDH2.
