Abstract
⺠New vaccines for TBDs require more knowledge on tick-pathogen-vector interactions. ⺠In vivo/in vitro biological samples from ruminant and tick origin are required. ⺠The use of several “Omics” strategies improves knowledge on pathogens' biology. ⺠Effective integration of systems biology allows a targeted choice of biomarkers. ⺠New vaccines will be more effective and less expensive for worldwide application.
