Abstract
► An in vivo model and DIGE were used to analyze changes in swine mesenteric lymph nodes upon S. typhimurium infection. ► Proteome response was associated to phagocyte infiltration, cytoskeleton remodeling and pyroptosis. ► Cross-presentation of S. typhimurium antigens via MHC-I in a proteasome-dependent manner was suggested. ► Reduction of S. typhimurium in tissue was associated to the induction of host innate and adaptive responses.
