Abstract
⺠Protein concentration is defined by the relative rates of protein synthesis and degradation. ⺠MS-based proteomics method to determine the synthesis and degradation rates of individual proteins in tissues of fish. ⺠Can differentiate the rates of synthesis of homologous isoforms of parvalbumin in skeletal muscle from common carp. ⺠Experimental approach can be employed to determine the turnover of multiple proteins from other tissues in fish species.
