Abstract
⺠Proteins of Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium associated with triclosan defence and tolerance were identified. ⺠Exposure to triclosan induced a general stress response. ⺠In a triclosan tolerant mutant, the triclosan target, FabI, was up-regulated and mutated. ⺠Tolerance to triclosan involved modifications in metabolism, transport and permeability. ⺠Triclosan tolerance was associated with de-repressed efflux systems.
