Abstract
⺠PGL-1 is an RNA-binding protein component of germ granules in nematode C. elegans. ⺠We performed a comparative proteomic analysis between wild type and pgl-1 mutants using 2-D DIGE and LC-MS/MS. ⺠Constantly, 8 genes were downregulated and 9 genes were upregulated in pgl-1 mutants at both 20 °C and 25 °C. ⺠Among them, reduction of eef-1G was shown to be critical for the sterility of pgl-1 mutants. ⺠It was indicated that PGL-1 is involved in translational processes during the C. elegans germline development.
