Abstract
► We modeled two landscape-scale fuel treatment strategies on reducing fire risk. ► Strategy 1 treats stands of high burn probability first. ► Strategy 2 treats stands of high fuel loading first. ► Strategy 1 produced more dispersed and smaller high-risk fire patches than strategy 2. ► Strategy 1 is more effective at reducing fire risk than strategy 2.
