Abstract
The potassium crown-ether thiophosphate, [K(18-crown-6)]2 [P2S6]·2 CH3CN, has been obtained by the reaction of K2P2S6 with 18-crown-6 in acetonitrile. The title compound adopts a molecular array of [K(18-crown-6)]2 [P2S6] wherein two K(18-crown-6) units are linked by the P2S6 group. FT-Raman and FT-IR spectra of the title compound have been recorded and interpreted, especially with respect to the P2S6 group and in comparison to the few known metal meta-thiodiphosphates.
