Abstract
The calculated results show that fluorine-passivated “Christmas Tree” graphene nanoribbons (F-CTGNRs) have a ferromagnetic ground state and can be a spin metal, a spin semiconductor, a spin half-metal, or a spin gapless semiconductor, completely depending on their geometrical sizes. The perfect dual spin-filtering effect and high-performance dual spin diode effect as well as larger magnetoresistance (MR) can be found in the F-CTGNR based devices.87
