Abstract
⺠Analytical models were presented describing the voltage transfer characteristics (VTC) of CMOS and ambipolar inverters. ⺠The presented models provide insights into the electrical characteristics of both inverter technologies. ⺠The models were compared to experimentally realized inorganic and organic ambipolar transistors and inverters. ⺠The models were used to investigate the effect of different transistor parameters on the static noise margin. ⺠A comparison shows that the SNM of ambipolar inverters can reach 75% of the CMOS inverter's SNM.
