Abstract
► p-nitrophenol can be effectively degraded using sonophotocatalytic oxidation. ► Acidic conditions, lower concentration and optimum amount of photocatalyst are beneficial. ► Use of optimum loading of hydrogen peroxide or Fenton chemistry results in intensification. ► Reactor design based on large transducer surface area is suitable for pilot scale operation.
