Abstract
► The Mo-catalyzed bromination of various aromatic compounds was accelerated by ultrasound. ► The reaction did not take place under conventional mechanical stirring. ► The acceleration was attributed to a secondary sonochemical effect, lowering pH by sonolysis of CHCl3-H2O.
