Abstract
⺠The Mo-catalyzed bromination of various aromatic compounds was accelerated by ultrasound. ⺠The reaction did not take place under conventional mechanical stirring. ⺠The acceleration was attributed to a secondary sonochemical effect, lowering pH by sonolysis of CHCl3-H2O.
