Abstract
⺠Recent successes in the synthesis of high-valent iron-oxo complexes are reviewed. ⺠These complexes model corresponding key intermediates in nonheme iron oxygenases. ⺠Mechanisms for dioxygen activation to yield iron(IV)-oxo species are discussed.
