Abstract
⺠Fe(VI) oxidizes organic compounds by either 1 â eâ or 2 â eâ transfer step. ⺠Fe(V) reacts much faster with organic compounds than does Fe(VI). ⺠Fe(V) oxidizes compounds mostly by a concerted 2 â eâ transfer step. ⺠Hammett-type relationships explain the mechanism of reactions.
