Abstract
⺠2-Pyridyl substituted imine function reacted readily with Co(II) ion. ⺠In this reaction, one water molecule adds onto the imine group and Co(II) has been oxidized to Co(III). ⺠The resultant alcohol binds as alcoholate ion. ⺠The molecular structures of cobalt(III) alcoholate complexes were confirmed by X-ray diffraction method.
