Novel bis(β-diketonato)diorganotin(IV) derivatives containing bulky 4-acyl-5-pyrazolonato ligands: Influence of the steric hindrance of the acyl moiety on the solid state structures of tin complexes and their behaviour in solution

► Dialkyltin(IV) complexes with bulky acylpyrazolonates are skewed trans-octahedral in the solid. ► Complexes with bulky ligands in solution can exist as a mixture of 6- and 5-coordinate species. ► Bulky ligands induce a mixture of trans and cis diphenyltin(IV) isomers in solution and solid state.
