Abstract
A number of palladium(II) complexes containing PyDTM (1-pyrrolidinecarbodithioate methyl ester) and the related pyrrolidinecarbodithioato ion (PyDT) have been prepared and characterized by IR and proton NMR spectra and thermogravimetric analysis (TG and DTA). The thermal degradation of the dithioester derivatives of formula [PdCl2(PyDTM)] and [PdCl2(PyDTM)2] allows to obtain the related dithiocarbamates of formula [PdCl(PyDT)]n and [Pd(PyDT)2]. The polymeric species [PdCl(PyDT)]n coordinates neutral S donors like N substituted dithioester molecules, yielding the [PdCl(PyDT)(dithioester)] complexes (dithioester = PyDTM, DMDTM, ESDTM), whose thermal degradation allows to obtain mixed species containing two different dithiocarbamato moieties.
