Abstract
O-donor solvent molecules coordinate to the metal centre of cis-octahedral Ph2Sn(cupf)2 (1) complex to form hepta-coordinated Ph2Sn(cupf)2(H2O) (2) and Ph2Sn(cupf)2(EtOH) · EtOH (3) complexes, consequently, the phenyl-groups attached to tin undergo an intramolecular rearrangement. The solvent molecules control the association of solvated molecules via hydrogen bonds forming infinite chains (2) as well as a dimeric supramolecule (3).
