Abstract
⺠We have reported calix[4]arene derivatives as potential ligands for fluorescence studies. ⺠We are currently targeting attachment of functional groups, excluding imine functionalities. ⺠Two new calix[4]arene derivatives containing benzamide arms were synthesised. ⺠Only metal acetate salts were bound selectively by one of the derivatives.
