Abstract
The complex [Mn(2,2â²-dpa)(N3)2]2 has been solvothermally prepared and structurally characterized (2,2â²-dpa = 2,2â²-dipicolylamine). Two manganese centers are connected with each other through double end-on-azido bridges in this dinuclear complex. Each manganese atom is coordinated by one 2,2â²-dipicolylamine, double end-on azido ligands and one terminal azido ligand to form a slightly distorted tetrahedral geometry. The extensive short contacts among dimeric manganese molecules play an important role in stabling the crystal structure. This complex exhibits dominant ferromagnetic interaction and weak antiferromagnetic interaction mediated by the end-on azido bridges and the short contacts, respectively.
