Cobalt complexes bridge with a (μ-X)(μ-carboxylato) unit (X = OH, N3): synthesis and structural studies

Synthesis and determination of a novel μ-hydroxo-μ-carboxylato dicobalt(II) complex having the TpiPr2 (=hydrotris(3,5-diisopropyl-1-pyrazolyl)borate) ligand has been performed. Each cobalt is in five coordination atmosphere with Co-Co separation of 3.66 Å, which is larger than Co-Co separation in cobalt containing methionine aminopeptidase (2.88 Å).
