Abstract
The magnetic interaction in the unique di-μ-sulfato complex [(cyclam)Cr(SO4)]22+ (5) is compared with that in the corresponding di-μ-hydroxo species [(cyclam)Cr(OH)]24+ (1). The EPR spectra of 1, interpreted by computer simulation, arise almost exclusively from the quintet state.
