Abstract
Aliphatic tripodal ligands featuring a central nitrogen atom linked to thioether donor functions by ethylene and propylene spacers have been prepared and coordinated to copper(I). The coordination geometry of the copper atom in these complexes changes from trigonal-pyramidal to tetrahedral depending on the lengths of the spacer groups between their donor atoms.
